Privacy Policy
Last Updated: April 2026
1. Privacy First by Design
At Clipsy, we believe your data belongs to you. Unlike traditional productivity tools that sync your most sensitive information to the cloud, Clipsy is built on a local-first architecture. This means your clipboard history is stored directly on your hardware, not our servers.
2. Data We Don't Collect
Because Clipsy operates locally, we do not have access to, nor do we store, any of the following:
- Your clipboard history (text, images, or files).
- Your saved snippets or code blocks.
- Your captured screenshots or OCR results.
- Your specific device identifiers or IP addresses for tracking.
3. End-to-End Encryption (E2EE)
When you use Clipsy's sharing features (Local Network or Global), your data is encrypted on your device before it is transmitted. For Global sharing, our relay servers facilitate the transfer but are technically incapable of decrypting the content. Only the recipient with the authorized key can access the shared items.
4. PII and Sensitive Information
Clipsy includes automated on-device processing to detect and mask Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as credit card numbers and API keys in your visual history. This processing happens entirely in your machine's memory and no data is sent to external APIs for this purpose.
5. Analytics and Crash Reporting
To improve performance, Clipsy may collect anonymous, non-identifiable telemetry (e.g., application startup time, crash logs). You can opt-out of this entirely in the application settings.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
